1 America Square is three minutes’ walk from Tower Hill, with eight conference rooms over one floor, a 270-seat suite and something no other conference venue in the City can offer: a floodlit stretch of the Roman London Wall, visible through a glass wall in one of the meeting rooms. It is one of our three conference venues in the City of London, and the one to choose when delegates are flying in and you want them to remember where they have been.
Tower Hill is on the District and Circle lines, with Tower Gateway on the DLR immediately alongside for delegates coming from Canary Wharf or London City Airport. Come out of the station, cross towards Crosswall, and 1 America Square is about three minutes away. Fenchurch Street mainline is a few minutes further for c2c services from Essex, and Aldgate adds the Metropolitan and Hammersmith & City lines about six minutes off. Walk times are our own estimate and will be confirmed on foot.
Delegates arriving from abroad tend to like this corner of the City. The Tower of London is directly opposite the station and Tower Bridge is a few minutes beyond it, which makes the arrival worth something in itself and gives an international group somewhere obvious to go afterwards.

Eight rooms on a single floor. The Ludgate Suite is the main conference room at 270 theatre-style or 150 cabaret; the Cornhill Suite beside it takes 300 standing and does the work of registration, catering and exhibition. Aldgate, Bishopsgate, Walbrook, Fleet and Newgate handle breakouts, speaker prep, interviews and board meetings.

Insurance and shipping, mostly — Lloyd’s and the broker market are a few streets north, and the maritime and commodity trades have been in these streets for longer than that. Alongside them we host AGMs and results presentations, exam sittings — AQA and Pearson Edexcel have each run sittings with us — graduate training, hybrid and virtual events, and product launches. Because the building is a short walk from the Tower, it also takes a steady stream of international delegations and association meetings that want their London day to feel like one. Academic and charity conferences are offered a discounted rate — ask for it when you enquire.
Catering is in-house by Mayfair Catering, from arrival coffee to a seated dinner, with canapés for receptions from our sister company City Canapé Company, delivered across the City by cargo bike. Of the clients who answered our post-event survey, 97% rated their event 8 or more out of 10 and 96% said they would book again.

There is more hotel stock around Tower Hill than anywhere else in the City, which makes it the easy choice for a residential conference; our HotelMap page shows live rates around the venue. For eating, St Katharine Docks is ten minutes east and good for a group dinner by the water, Leadenhall Market is eight minutes north for something more traditional, and the restaurants along Crutched Friars and Coopers Row are on the doorstep for a working lunch.

Almost everyone arrives by train: the venue is inside the Congestion Charge and ULEZ zones and Tower Hill is three minutes away. If you need to bring equipment or exhibition stands by van, tell us when you book and we will arrange access.
