If your delegates are arriving at Moorgate, the nearest dedicated conference venue is ours. 1 Basinghall Avenue is a two-minute walk from the station, with an auditorium for up to 450 people, three further conference rooms, space for 30 exhibition stands and a roof terrace looking across the City to St Paul’s. It is the largest of our three conference venues in the City of London, and the one built for the big day: AGMs, results presentations, association conferences and hybrid broadcasts.
Moorgate is one of the best-connected stations in the Square Mile. It is served by the Northern, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines, by Great Northern trains from Finsbury Park, Hertford and Stevenage, and by the Elizabeth line through the Moorgate entrance of Liverpool Street station. That last one matters most for a conference venue near Moorgate: delegates from Heathrow, Paddington, Canary Wharf and Stratford arrive without changing trains, and Heathrow is under an hour away.
From the station it is a two-minute walk: leave onto Moorgate itself, head south to London Wall, and Basinghall Avenue is two turnings away. No. 1 is the building with the revolving door and the timber-clad reception behind it.
Bank is five minutes’ walk for the Central, Waterloo & City and DLR lines; St Paul’s and Liverpool Street are five to eight minutes; Cannon Street, Mansion House and Barbican are within ten. Most delegates come by train, which is as well: the venue sits inside the Congestion Charge and ULEZ zones.
The three Forums open into a single auditorium for a plenary of up to 450 theatre-style, then divide into three rooms for breakouts, so a conference can move from keynote to workshops without anyone leaving the floor. The exhibition space takes 30 stands, the reception area handles registration for the full house, and the roof terrace is the lunch and drinks space when the weather allows.

AV is built in and run by our own technical team — stage, lectern, screens, radio microphones, and the cameras and encoding for a hybrid conference or a webcast to the people who could not get to Moorgate. Floorplans and the full room list are on the 1 Basinghall Avenue venue page.
Moorgate sits between the Bank of England and the Barbican, at the centre of London’s banking, insurance, legal and accountancy district. The organisations around it are the ones that need a conference venue with a proper stage and a room that holds everyone: professional bodies and membership associations running their annual conferences; listed companies holding AGMs and results presentations; firms running graduate intakes and training programmes; awarding bodies sitting exams — AQA and Pearson Edexcel have each run sittings with us; and companies launching a product to a room of clients and press. Catering is in-house, by Mayfair Catering, from arrival coffee to a seated dinner for 200 in the combined Forum, with canapés for drinks receptions from our sister company City Canapé Company, made fresh each day in its EC1 kitchen and delivered across the City by cargo bike. In our post-event survey 97% of clients rated their overall event 8 or more out of 10, and 96% said they would book again.

Delegates staying overnight have a good choice of hotels within a ten-minute walk of the venue, and our HotelMap page shows live rates around the building. For a working lunch out, a team dinner after the conference or a drink before the train, Finsbury Circus, London Wall Place and the Barbican put restaurants and bars within five minutes in every direction. Ask the venue team on the day — they know which is quiet at 6pm and which takes a table of twenty.

Almost everyone arrives by train: the venue is inside the Congestion Charge and ULEZ zones and Moorgate is two minutes away. If you need to bring equipment or exhibition stands by van, tell us when you book and we will arrange access.
