Fenchurch Street is the closest mainline station to two of our conference venues. 1 America Square is three minutes’ walk along Crosswall, with eight rooms and a 270-seat suite; The Minster Building is four minutes up Mincing Lane, with a 350-seat Forum and an exhibition gallery beside it. Both sit in the insurance and shipping quarter of the City, which is where most of the delegates who arrive here are going.
Fenchurch Street is the only mainline terminus in London with no Underground station of its own, which catches some delegates out. It is served by c2c trains from Southend, Basildon, Grays, Upminster and Barking, and journeys from most of south Essex take well under an hour. If your delegates are coming by Tube instead, send them to Tower Hill or Aldgate, both a few minutes away on foot.
Leaving the station, Crosswall runs off Fenchurch Street to the east and brings you to 1 America Square in about three minutes. For The Minster Building, head west along Fenchurch Street and turn into Mincing Lane; the entrance is on the left, about four minutes in all. Walk times are our own estimate from the station concourse and will be confirmed on foot.
The wider set of stations around here is generous: Tower Hill and Aldgate on the District and Circle lines, Aldgate East, Monument a little further west, and Tower Gateway for the DLR. Almost every delegate arrives by train, which suits the venues — both sit inside the Congestion Charge and ULEZ zones.
Eight rooms over a single floor, with the Ludgate Suite as the main conference room at 270 theatre-style and the Cornhill Suite alongside it for registration, catering and exhibition. The smaller suites — Aldgate, Bishopsgate, Walbrook, Fleet and Newgate — work as breakouts, speaker prep and board meetings, so a conference can run its plenary and four parallel sessions without leaving the floor.

The Minster Forum seats 350 theatre-style or 192 cabaret, with the Minster Gallery next door for exhibition stands, registration and catering — it holds 350 standing. The Lombard and Fenchurch rooms combine into a 130-seat second room or split into two, and the Monument Room takes a board of 25.

This is the insurance quarter. Lloyd’s of London is on Lime Street, the brokers and reinsurers are on Fenchurch Street, Leadenhall Street and St Mary Axe, and Mincing Lane has been a commodities address for two centuries. The events that follow from that are market briefings, syndicate and broker conferences, regulatory and compliance training, and results presentations. We also host AGMs and results presentations, graduate intakes and training programmes, hybrid conferences for firms with offices overseas, and product launches. Academic and charity conferences are offered a discounted rate — ask for it when you enquire.
Catering at both venues is in-house, by Mayfair Catering, with canapés for drinks receptions from our sister company City Canapé Company, made fresh each day in its EC1 kitchen. In our post-event survey 97% of clients rated their overall event 8 or more out of 10, and 96% said they would book again.

For lunch out or a drink afterwards, Leadenhall Market is five minutes from either door and has the best of the covered-market pubs and restaurants; Fenchurch Avenue and St Mary Axe fill the gaps. The Sky Garden at 20 Fenchurch Street is three minutes away and worth knowing about when a client asks where to take a visiting board.
