The Minster Building is four minutes’ walk from Monument and about eight from Cannon Street, with a Forum seating 350 and an exhibition gallery beside it. For delegates travelling up from Kent and south-east London it is the closest of our conference venues in the City of London, and the walk from the platform is short enough that nobody arrives late.
Monument is on the District and Circle lines and connects underground to Bank, which puts the Central, Northern, Waterloo & City and DLR lines within the same station complex. Cannon Street adds Southeastern mainline services from Kent, Bexley, Bromley and the south-eastern suburbs, along with its own District and Circle platforms.
From Monument, walk east along Eastcheap and turn into Mincing Lane; the Cavendish Venues entrance at The Minster Building is on the left, about four minutes. From Cannon Street it is roughly eight, along Monument Street and Eastcheap. Fenchurch Street mainline is four minutes the other way for c2c services from Essex, and Tower Hill is about seven. Walk times are our own estimate and will be confirmed on foot.
The venue is inside the Congestion Charge and ULEZ zones and has no parking of its own, so almost every delegate arrives on foot from one of those four stations.
The Minster Forum seats 350 theatre-style or 192 cabaret and is the main conference room; the Minster Gallery runs alongside it and takes exhibition stands, registration and catering, with room for 350 standing. The Lombard and Fenchurch rooms combine into a 130-seat second stream or divide into two smaller rooms, and the Monument Room seats a board of 25. The building is arranged around a glazed atrium, which makes the breaks feel less like a corridor than most City venues manage.

This is the river side of the City, and the mix reflects it: shipping and marine insurance, the commodity trades that have been on Mincing Lane and Eastcheap for two centuries, the livery companies around Fishmongers’ Hall, and the professional firms in between. The conferences we host here are association and trade-body annual meetings, AGMs and results presentations, training programmes, exam sittings and product launches. Because Cannon Street brings delegates straight in from Kent, it is also a practical choice for any conference whose audience is spread across the south-east rather than central London. Academic and charity conferences are offered a discounted rate — ask for it when you enquire.
Catering is in-house by Mayfair Catering, with canapés for drinks receptions from our sister company City Canapé Company, made fresh each day in its EC1 kitchen. In our post-event survey 97% of clients rated their overall event 8 or more out of 10 and 96% said they would book again.

Hotels sit a few minutes east towards Tower Hill and north towards Liverpool Street rather than on the river itself; our HotelMap page shows live rates around the venue. For eating and drinking the choice is good and close: Bloomberg Arcade is six minutes west and the most reliable place to seat a group, Leadenhall Market is seven minutes north, and London Bridge is a ten-minute walk across the river for Borough Market when a group wants to make an evening of it. The Monument itself is two minutes away and worth the 311 steps for delegates with an hour to spare.
