Bank sits at the centre of the Square Mile and we have a conference venue on either side of it. 1 Basinghall Avenue is five minutes north-west, with a 450-seat auditorium, the largest of our rooms. The Minster Building is seven minutes east, with a 350-seat Forum and an exhibition gallery. Between them they cover almost any size of conference within a few minutes of the junction.
Bank is one of the busiest interchanges in London: the Central, Northern, Waterloo & City and DLR lines all call here, and the station connects underground to Monument for the District and Circle. It is the obvious meeting point for delegates arriving from every direction, which is the main reason conferences get booked around it.
For 1 Basinghall Avenue, leave towards Princes Street and walk north up Moorgate to London Wall, then into Basinghall Avenue — about five minutes. For The Minster Building, head east along Lombard Street and Fenchurch Street and turn into Mincing Lane — about seven. Bank is a large station with a long walk between some platforms and the street, so allow a little more than the map suggests. Walk times are our own estimate and will be confirmed on foot.
Both venues are inside the Congestion Charge and ULEZ zones and neither has parking, which is rarely a problem here: almost every delegate arrives by Tube or on foot.
Three Forums open into one auditorium for a plenary of up to 450 theatre-style, then divide into three rooms for breakouts, so a conference moves from keynote to workshops without anyone leaving the floor. There is space for 30 exhibition stands alongside, and a roof terrace looking across the City to St Paul’s.

The Minster Forum takes 350 theatre-style or 192 cabaret, with the Minster Gallery beside it for exhibition and catering. The Lombard and Fenchurch rooms combine for a 130-seat second stream or split in two, and the Monument Room seats a board of 25.

The Bank of England is on Threadneedle Street, the Royal Exchange faces it and Mansion House is across the junction; the banks, the law firms and the professional bodies fill the streets between. The conferences that follow are the formal ones. We host a steady run of AGMs, results presentations and analyst briefings for listed and mid-cap companies, graduate intakes and training programmes for firms taking on a hundred people at a time, professional exam sittings, hybrid broadcasts to investors who could not travel, and association annual conferences. Catering at both venues is in-house by Mayfair Catering — arrival coffee through to a seated dinner for 200 in the combined Forum at Basinghall — with canapés for drinks receptions from our sister company City Canapé Company. In our post-event survey 97% of clients rated their overall event 8 or more out of 10 and 96% said they would book again.

Hotels cluster a little to the east and north of Bank rather than on the junction itself; our HotelMap pages show live rates around 1 Basinghall Avenue and The Minster Building. For lunch and dinner, Bloomberg Arcade is five minutes south and the easiest place to seat a group without booking weeks ahead; Royal Exchange has the smarter option under its arcades; and Throgmorton Street and Austin Friars keep the traditional City pubs going for a drink before the train.
