Discounted Rates for Registered Charities and Academic Institutions
Registered charities and academic institutions qualify for a discounted rate on room hire, available year-round rather than only in quiet months. Ask for the charity or academic rate when you enquire and we will apply it to your quote.
Lecture Theatres, Syndicate Rooms and Space to Gather
Academic programmes rarely fit one room. Across Hallam Conference Centre in Fitzrovia, Cavendish Conference Centre in Marylebone, Basinghall in the Square Mile, America Square near Tower Hill and the Minster Building in the City we can pair a main lecture space with syndicate rooms for parallel sessions and workshops, plus circulation space for posters, exhibitors and the conversations between sessions that delegates actually remember.
Well Connected and Step-Free
Every venue is within a five-minute walk of a mainline Tube or rail station, which keeps travel simple for delegates coming in from other institutions and from outside London. All five are step-free from entrance to event floor.
Independently Certified Sustainability
For institutions and funders that ask about environmental credentials, our B Corp certification is independently audited rather than self-declared, and we hold Silver in the Sustainability Award for Venues and Gold in the Clean City Awards Scheme.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer discounts for registered charities and academic institutions?
Yes. Registered charities (with a valid Charity Commission number) and higher-education institutions qualify for our discounted rate on room hire. The discount applies to room hire only and holds year-round, including in peak months. Charity Christmas parties, fundraising receptions and academic conference days all qualify. Ask for the charity or academic rate when you enquire.
What kinds of academic events do you host?
University-run conferences and symposia; research-council-funded workshops; learned-society AGMs, medal lectures and public lectures; medical Royal College continuing professional development; editorial-board meetings for academic journals; PhD viva examinations; and postdoc symposia. All five Cavendish venues are used regularly for academic events.
What kinds of charity events do you host?
Trustee meetings and charity AGMs; fundraising drinks receptions and awards evenings; grant-round briefings; volunteer thank-you events; sector-wide policy conferences; public engagement lectures; and corporate-partnership launches for CSR programmes. Registered charities qualify for our discounted rate.
Is the venue accessible for delegates with additional needs?
Yes. Every venue is step-free from entrance to event floor with hearing loops in the main rooms. Quiet rooms are available for delegates who need a break during long-format events. Signage can be provided in additional languages or large print on request. Catering covers halal, kosher, vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and full allergen protocols as standard.
Can I get a sustainability report for my event?
On request we can provide a per-event sustainability summary covering catering emissions, waste handled, delegate travel mode-share (from your survey data) and headline energy figures — useful for annual reports, grant reporting and ESG disclosures. Cavendish Venues is a certified B Corporation and was recognised for sustainability at the 2026 Conference & Events Awards.
