World Mental Health Day – 10th October
Tomorrow, the 10th October is a World Mental Health Day, this year’s theme is “Mental Health for All”.
After the year we’ve all had with pandemic in full swing, lockdown, major restrictions, job losses, collapsing businesses and most importantly the lost lives of our loved ones, it feels like World Mental Health Day is more important than ever, especially with the uncertainty ahead of us.
Mental Health Foundation is doing an incredible job raising awareness by offering publications on how to manage and reduce stress, overcome fear and anxiety, sleep better (and many more!) to a Tea & Talk fundraiser, which is a great way to come together for a virtual cup of tea and support each other just by having a friendly chat. Research shows that talking has very positive effects on your mental health and that’s what the Tea & Talk is all about.
Everyone at Cavendish Conference Venues along with our peers in events industry are feeling the pressures of Covid-19, we are the only remaining sector not able to reopen since March and according to Boris will not fully reopen for at least another 6 months. This means one year of no physical events taking place! How many event venues and businesses can survive this? How many people will face mental health issues over income security, career progression and personal development?
Dear eventprofs, we are all in this together and even though we can’t do much about the pandemic, we can raise mental health awareness by just reaching out to our colleagues and peers for a virtual Tea & Talk!
