Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expecting large scale events, conferences and weddings to return to normal by the summer. Vaccination and testing strategy is predicted to bring events industry some very needed stability and long awaited normality.

Boris Johnson said he believed it will soon be a “different world”. “If you’re thinking about the summer, I think you’ll be alright,” he told a wedding venue manager, who was concerned about her business’s survival.

He added “My hope is by summer it really will be a different world for the weddings and events industry. I hope that your potential customers will be full of confidence and optimism as well and will be getting hitched in the normal way.

“I think you should be able to plan for a much more active summer and lots of happy nuptial events all over the UK.”

UK is the first Western Country to approve a vaccine against Covid-19, which will start rolling to the clinically vulnerable and elderly from next week. It will be a challenging task to ensure a smooth and efficient vaccination process, but the Prime Minister is hopeful that majority of vaccination process will be complete by Easter.

With Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine already approved and two more expecting approval very soon, this provides high hopes for event venues, suppliers and freelancers. The whole sector has been on a standstill since March and with many event and conference businesses going into administration, we hope the ones who are still hanging on will finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.
