Crossrail is going to MASSIVELY impact delegate rates in London – be prepared !
In 2021 Crossrail will finally open – for conference organisers it will massively change the map of London. At the moment delegate rates for comparable venues within zone 1 vary by up to 50%. (ie venues with similar sized rooms of a similar standard) By far and away the biggest determinant of this variation is accessibility. The map of accessible venues is about to be re-written. Journey times from Heathrow Airport (terminal 5) to Bond Street Underground station are1 hour 5 mins, (Tfl journey planner), the Elizabeth Line (otherwise known as Crossrail) website says this will drop to 37 minutes. Similar journey time reductions will occur along the length of the line. In terms of conference and event bookers, venues within easy access to any of the following stations will all enjoy significantly better journey times to Heathrow, Paddington / Bond Street / Tottenham Court Road / Farringdon & Liverpool Street and on to Canary Wharf and Liverpool Street.
