Sustainable Venues find it hard to remain sustainable
It’s been difficult to continue being some of the capital’s most sustainable venues…
CORONAVIRUS
One of the ways we at Cavendish Venues have attempted to minimise the risk of coronavirus transmission is by ensuring that all the food we serve is in closed containers. Be it croissants at breakfast or our new fantastic Poke Bowls for lunch.
This is a new and challenging waste steam for us, especially challenging as for the past 10 years we have been working to reduce all single use items, see HERE. We have responded by using only fully recyclable disposable containers, a significant additional expense but one which we simply have to bear. Combined with this we have taken the opportunity to significantly redesign our menus with a view to further reducing food waste, see HERE for our ongoing efforts in this respect.
ENVIRONMENT
We at Cavendish Venues are absolutely committing to continuously reducing our environmental impact in all its many facets. Be it offsetting the carbon (global warming) we generate by our activities. Not just by our direct activities but through our wider impacts i.e. delegates travelling to our venues etc, see HERE for more details.
We’ve been working for years to be accredited as a Zero to Landfill venue, see HERE. The City of London Corporation has recently recognised all of this, they awarded us Gold in their circular economy awards last month, see HERE.
If you are looking for a green / sustainable meeting or conference venue in either the City of London or the West End of London, look no further than Cavendish Venues.
