Cavendish Venues welcomes students interested in careers in events!
As it’s half-term this week for much of education, it’s an ideal time to show how Cavendish Venues believes in the future of the events industry and developing talent.
So when Park View School in Haringey made an approach asking for some insight into the industry to assist their budding students with their project questions, a visit was arranged at the America Square venue in the City by Tower Hill.
The students had been using hospitality as a base to focus their projects on as they prepare for their GCSE examinations.
Part of the curriculum is to visit real businesses to see how things are put into practice.
So Director of Sales Paul Martins took some time to welcome the Park View School’s group to run through the events field’s current trends, an event professional’s journey through various roles in the industry, an overview of Cavendish Venues as a company, staff structure (partners, sales, reactive, operations, Mayfair Catering), a presentation of the venues’ portfolio, an explanation of our catering division and audio-visual partners and an outline with examples of marketing strategy with focus on membership where returns on investment are achieved (such as the MIA, the HBAA, the London City Selection and Westminster Venue Collection).
After a question and answer session, a site visit around the venue with opportunity to take pictures was also made overlooking the Roman London Wall.
Cavendish Venues would like to thank Nataliya Petrova, Inclusion Teacher and Community Languages Coordinator at Park View School for arranging the visit and highlighting hospitality as a genuine option for ambitious youngsters.
The students will hopefully remember the visit so that one day they can build a successful career playing important roles in the future of the events industry.
Everyone at Cavendish Venues wishes the students who came and everyone at Park View School every success in their studies and projects for the future!
