Cost of Meetings Are Rising Fast
According to the Event Economy Tracker by The Business of Events. The UK meetings and events industry has experienced a rise in the Price Per Head of 14.7% in Q1 of 2023, and a 22% year on year increase for meeting rooms.
The Venue Booker reports that overall spending on Conferences and Events in London is forecast to rise by 43% 2022 – 2026. This significant increase in demand in not being matched by an increase in supply. The annual PWC hotels forecast for the next 4 years shows only a relatively modest in increase in the supply of hotel rooms, a proxy for conference space. It is this disconnect between supply and demand that is pushing up price.
