Happy New Year and Welcome to Veganuary 2023!
To celebrate ‘Veganuary’ we are offering a 10% discount on all delegate rates in our London Conference Venues if you choose a vegan menu. We have completely rewritten our vegan menu’s gone are the old-fashioned and boring, in with some incredibly exciting and healthy options.
The Veganuary campaign was launched in 2014 with over 1,000,000 participants to date and the aim to inspire and support people to try vegan for January and hopefully beyond.
Veganuary’s vision is very simple – a world where food production does not decimate forests, pollutes bodies of water, adds to climate change and wild animal extinction.
These are just some of the reasons why we should go vegan:
Meat and dairy farming consume an enormous amount of water and crops, not to mention land requirement to grow the crops is a major contributor to deforestation and species extinction. Another major issue associated with animal farming is transport and production processes. Vegan diet requires far less crops and water which results in reducing human impact on the environment.
Well planned vegan diets can help to improve kidney function, reduce blood sugar levels, provide more fiber, antioxidants and beneficial plant compounds. They also appear to be richer in potassium, magnesium, folate and vitamins A, C and E. Vegan diets are also linked to a lower risk of heart diseases and certain cancers.
60 billions of land animals and over 1 trillion marine animals are killed every year in order to feed the world’s population. Specifics aside, avoiding animal products will help to reduce animal cruelty and animal exploitation around the globe.
Food (and land) security is becoming a major issue. The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) estimates that one in nine people are chronically undernourished. With the world’s population expected to increase from 7 billion to reach 9-11 billion by 2050, one of the most urgent questions we now face is how we, as a species, will feed ourselves in the 21st century.
As a business concentrating on providing sustainable conference rooms and meeting spaces across London and to celebrate and embrace Veganuary we are very pleased to offer a completely VEGAN fork buffet menu at our London Conference Centres, you can find our vegan menu. All fresh produce is sourced from local farms and any food waste is composted in Mitcham, South East London.
And we are not the only business celebrating Veganuary, some of the high street chains and UK retailers have added vegan dishes on their menus too – from Starbucks ‘Beyond Meat Breakfast Roll’ and Pret’s ‘Meatless Meatball Hot Wrap’ to Wasabi’s whopping 19 vegan products on the menu!
