Why Events Should Return to Conference Centres and Event Venues?
We’ve been asking ourselves will conference and meetings industry ever return to normal? Will we see conference centres and event venues at full capacities again like they were in 2019? We have been living in the virtual events world for a year now and while some organisations managed to thrive in the virtual world, others could barely get by. Hopefully the answer is “YES” and here are the reasons why:
NETWORKING
We are social species and it is important for us to have connections with likeminded industry professionals. We all seek for new useful contacts – potential new clients, business partners or service providers and we can only make strong connections when meeting face to face. In other words, it’s more difficult to achieve great working relationship with someone hiding behind a screen than mingling in a conference centre
BUSINESS EXPOSURE
Face to face conferences allow you to represent your company and showcase the business to potential new clients. This way not only you will generate new leads, but will also spread the word and raise your company’s profile within the sector
NEW TOOLS
Sponsors and exhibitors at conferences often display their new products and services, which is a great way to get ahead of the trend or find something useful for your business. Even if you don’t need them right away, it’s always helpful to get an insight for future needs
LEARNING THE TRICKS
Catching up with your peers and learning about their past experiences or useful sales techniques can only benefit you, especially now more than ever. We are certain that virtual events can’t compete with conference venues when building relationship which is not forced. Remember what it feels like to casually and naturally chat over a cup of coffee? All while sharing your thoughts and insights on the latest events and trends within your industry…
To sum up, while we all are enjoying the absence of commute nightmares and allowing more time for our personal lives, the face to face conferences are necessary. They help to build new connections, promote your business and learn about new products and industry tricks.
Hopefully, the government’s roadmap will continue as planned and Event Research Programme will prove that conference centres and event venues are able of implementing hygiene and safety protocols allowing clients and delegates return to physical events.
