Cavendish Venues reflects beyond events & with Simon of Beyond Food at HBAA #ForumFest.

The HBAA Forum at Crowne Plaza Stratford-Upon-Avon on Thursday 19th July 2018 was another well-organised opportunity to gather event professionals: agents, venue and suppliers to engage in topical discussion through panels, presentations, campfire sessions and networking opportunities with a creative out-of-the-box theme this festival season.

Thanks to all committee members, speakers and sponsors who made it successful.

As well as comparing notes with recognised peers such as Oliver Hargreaves (at fellow London City Selection members the Barbican), it was also useful to meet with sponsors and suppliers like Will Breen at Off Limits about projects that could assist current clients with specific requirements. Caleb Parker also deserves a mention for being a good fundraising sport.

Because as another highlight, our Director of Sales Paul Martins was pleased to meet Simon Boyle here in festival dress code at the HBAA #ForumFest last week, who champion Beyond Food, the social enterprise he set up:

In more serious code, Simon is an inspiration helping change people’s lives, offering skills and opportunities with a hopeful future beyond homelessness through cooking. Simon spent his early career at The Savoy Hotel London, working abroad high-end vessels and cruise ships and as part of the Michelin-star winning team at Chewton Glen. His varied career has seen him on Dragon’s Den, as Culinary Ambassador for Unilever and the founder of the charity Beyond Food, where he uses food as a catalyst for social change. Beyond Food’s home and social enterprise restaurant, Brigade is on Tooley Street, London.
