Honestly from an organiser’s perspective it is refreshing to work with a venue so on top of things – refreshment breaks on time, replenishing water without prompting and the little touches like bringing us toast in the morning!

All I really wanted to do was bring attention to how helpful the Hallam staff had been at our event (even more so than usual), especially Denis.

We had an IT issue (our laptop died! It hadn’t been fully charged and the lead in the bag wasn’t for the laptop that was in the bag!) and Denis was literally my knight in shining armour. Our laptop had switched off before we could transfer our presentation to a memory stick so I contacted the office here in Darlington and my colleague emailed the presentation to Denis, who then arranged for a laptop to be collected from the Cavendish Conference centre, loaded our presentation onto it and got us up and running again.

I have emailed to thank him directly but just wanted to say a big thank you to all.

I just wanted to say a big thank you to you and your team for taking care of us and ensuring the conference went as smooth as possible.  As always,  your efforts did not go unnoticed and we fully appreciate all that you do to make the conference seamless.

A special mention to Richard who  controlled the AV effortlessly.  He sits in his room and does what he does best and it is overlooked because it is so perfect, so a big thank you to him for controlling the AV which was flawless.

The administrator, Lindsay, also asked to pass on her thanks and appreciation for looking after her and the event last week. She would like to say a special thank you to you Dermot for carrying her suitcase all the way to the station for her!!!!!! (That’s what wheels are for) lol

Overall it was a great day and a successful conference so thank you to everyone involved, especially you Dermot
