The UK’s charities need your help…

April 23, 2020

The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect with the cancellation of thousands of events across UK event venues and the loss of billions in income through fundraising events.

On Sunday 26th April, London was supposed to wake up and cheer on thousands of athletes, participants and fun-runners as they ran through the streets on an early spring morning.

The Virgin Money London Marathon alone, which should have taken place on Sunday 26 April, is the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event, which raised more than £66.4 million for thousands of charities in 2019.

Many of these charities have had to reduce or stop services at a time when vulnerable members of society need them most; thousands of staff have been placed on furlough and many charities will not survive the next few months.

You can help

Join the country and do the 2.6 Challenge to help save the UK’s charities.

How can you get involved?

The 2.6 Challenge can be any activity you like – from running 2.6 miles to holding an online workout with 26 of your friends. Check out ‘how to get involved’ HERE for more ideas.

Whatever your age or ability, you can take part. After all, we’re not looking for superheroes. We’re looking for Home Heroes.

Choose your #TwoPointSixChallenge, head to the ‘donate or fundraise’ buttons on The 2.6 Challenge website to save your chosen charity, then complete your challenge.

In 2019 alone, Cavendish Venues have donated a record £4,082 . This builds on our donation of £3,958 in 2019, and the 53 individual donations we made throughout the year. Every year we make a significant donation to charity. We are proud of our place within our community and fundamentally believe in giving something back, so please get involved!

We are currently donating £5 to NHS charities for every enquiry we receive. As part of the #TwoPointSixChallenge we will donate £50 for every 26th enquiry!
