Rachels WFH diary… Week 2, Day 2

April 1, 2020

As 1st of the month, hope you all did a pinch and a punch first thing, we do need some Joviality.

Had our morning Virtual Conference Team Meeting at 09.30: I love it as I can have a nosey at everyone’s décor and living space. Love some of your feature walls and coffee cups too.

Valeria was eating breakfast looks very healthy – there are some pluses Val WFH, getting your partner to prepare the below:

VZ breakfast

Lina’s daughter was doing her homework, supervised by the dog Sky who looks very serious!

For those of you trying to keep the Children occupied the New NHS Nightingale hospital is launching the Rainbow Scheme for children to create a picture to keep all the patients smiling while they get over the virus. You and your little ones need to get crafty with an A4 piece of paper creating your prettiest rainbows and messages of positivity. Lina crack on ……….

As many of us are WFH the chair is the enemy, we need to keep moving and have varying activities throughout the day to ensure good posture. Tom wanted us all to demonstrate the plank, I suggested downward facing dog!  Love to hear anything you are doing to ensure no aching bones and you do not get shorter and shorter focusing hunched back over your chair.

On a personal note Son’s lost backpack arrived by courier this morning; Yes, the washer is on!

One bonus from the backpack is belated  Mother’s Day present, sustainable tea from the  Daintree Wilderness and rainforest area in the far north of Queensland, cultivated without any pesticides and high in antioxidants.  Enjoyed it along with Billionaires shortcake, how times change, in my youth it was Millionaires shortcake.

Tea Mom's day

While all enjoying 15 minutes of tea at 3, asked husband, to put on some uplifting music. Got ACDC, Highway to Hell, quite apt in the current situation..

Son said he was then going out for fresh air, asked him where, his reply:

“Meeting friends, going to Brisbourne Road to watch Leyton Orient Play, a quick beer in Spoons and will meet you and dad for dinner at the Sushi bar….. yeah, dream on ….  Gosh, so wish we could venture out. What a difference 9 days make….. With social distancing we must feel good about ourselves, so he was going into the garden to kick around a football.

After my activity break, now at the PC visualising the Cavendish Venues team all doing their planks etc.  Back to provisionals and conference diary in my upright chair, shoulders back, visualising a piece of string pulling my head  towards the ceiling, focusing on breathing with all my lungs, hope you are too.

The good news is we are still getting meeting rooms enquiries and even some confirmations! Yes, you’ve read it correct, people are still confirming conference venues!

Once again, thank you to all our clients for keeping in touch, please continue, we miss you all. Hope you are all copying in this bizarre, unsettling time and above all keeping healthy.  Whatever you are all doing have a lovely evening, viewing, reading, creating your rainbows, eating, drinking and above all spending quality time with you families and loved ones either in isolation or virtually……

With Love,

Rachel
