Micebook launches sustainability guide

November 7, 2019

Micebook, a tool which builds events through user experience, has announced the launch of its ‘eXperience guide’ on sustainability, which will provide planners with access to relevant information to create event ideas or pitches.

The guide was launched at the Site GB Incentive Summit, which took place at etc.venues on the 24 October.

The articles within the guide included how to create sustainable events, through to four of the most sustainable hotels in Copenhagen. Micebook has also added guides which focus on wellness and winter incentives.

The new guides will be embedded with its established continent, destination and city guides on the online planner’s hub.

Chetan Shan, Micebook’s founder, said: “Micebook is about effectively managing information. Within the industry, there’s a lot of information floating around, but when organisers are looking for the right information you cannot always find it.

“Not all organisers search by destination or city and nor should they. The way people search is changing. It takes creativity to win a pitch. The new eXperience guides will enable planners to search by topic and come up with ideas that not only meet client objectives but also provide a memorable experience for their guests.”

Shan continues: “Searching for information by themes had been a consideration of the focus group, which had helped in the development of the online planners’ hub. The new themed guides alleviate the problem of clicking through endless web pages by placing information which is useful and relevant to event planners all in one place.

“Sustainability has been chosen as the first topic for the new theme-based launch. It is the hottest topic in the industry right now. The information contained in Micebook’s guide on this topic will assist planners in making the right choices for their pitches. It will help them ascertain which hotels and destinations are embedding sustainability into their business practices.”

Abena Poku-Awuah, MD of Legacy Events, added: “Legacy welcomes this new source of information on sustainable events. We hope it inspires creativity and imagination for event planners all over the world who want to reduce their environmental impact.”
