Didn’t they do well?! – The Greatest #GameshowsLCS London City Selection Fam Trip 2019 a super, smashing, great success.

Cavendish Venues played a central part in the Greatest #GameshowsLCS London City Selection Fam Trip 2019 with booking agents with Director of Sales Paul Martins leading arrangements as LCS Chair.

18 agents attended from Brief 2 Events, Click Travel, Ellis Salsby, Flavour Venue Search, Garfit Group, Hire Space, Kuoni, Orange Door, Right Angle Events, Universal City Conferences, Venues For Business and Vista within 6 teams of 4 in each including a Team Leader from member venues (thanks to: Christina Warren at 58VE, Katy Stephens at Sadlers Wells, Fi Ashman at Citadines Barbican, Holly McQuilkan at ETC Venues, Tamsin Noyes at Crowne Plaza City and Mo Issa at The Mermaid).

The booking agents shared an average estimated annual buying power of £4.2 Million across all the agent companies.

They were joined by some 30 venue member representatives across the LCS membership of 27 member venues with stands on the Friday evening at The Postal Museum.
Cavendish Venues were well represented by Mariam Khan and Eleni Semertzaki.

There, all guests enjoyed 2 fantastic Mail Train rides. In addition, some 10 representatives from LCS preferred suppliers at Andrew Lunn Photography, Frankie Bayford from Outstanding Events and Jon the Caricaturist from Blank Canvas Entertainment as well as the suppliers from the Postal Museum also had stands.

Their representatives were thanks to: Clerkenwell Green served a welcome cocktail, selection of drinks and canapes, Smith & Sinclair provided a vapour orb, Oxygen Events showcased lighting and sound and Ya Hire presented a range of their event furniture.

LCS Chair Paul Martins from Cavendish Venues welcomed and thanked all, before Claire Bastin offered some words on the host venue and then the taskmaster was introduced: Simon Conrich who represented Right Angle Events to lead and host the activities wonderfully – each member venue stand was given a clue so that all teams of agents would visit each.

At the end of the evening, the hotels were waiting for the teams of booking agents on the accommodation front thanks to: Thistle City Barbican, Dorsett City Hotel, Crowne Plaza Kings Cross, Crowne Plaza The City, Citadines Barbican, The Montcalm.

Preferred partners Corporate Black Cabs kindly ensured all teams had a safe and comfortable journey back to their hotels as well as for lining up at Sadler’s Wells early the next morning and assisting at the end of the day/early evening too:

After Breakfast at Sadler’s Wells Teams headed off to activity venues with Simon from Right Angle Events keeping scores that were sent to him from venues via WhatsApp, and sending quick fire questions and tasks out.

The Twitter coverage was busy and interactive with the hashtag #GameshowsLCS and on Instagram with live stories.

A WhatsApp group worked very well for additional challenges and competitive fighting talk with engagement and a few jokes between the team of agents and suppliers.

After visits and challenges resumed which all culminated thanks to the Thistle City Barbican for a wonderful finish line food and drinks at the Re:play Bar and prize giving in their meeting room on the Saturday:

Points meant prizes and no-one went away empty handed (each of the 6 Team Leaders received a Belgo Beer from Crowne Plaza Kings Cross) – points and prizes were decided by Simon at Right Angle Events and thanks to member venues, these were:

America Square – Cavendish Venues – A Speedboat..experience for 2.

Museum Of London – A private ‘Blitz in the City Walking Tour’ (led by Elizabeth Singleton) for up to 6 people followed by a bottle of prosecco in London Wall Bar and Kitchen. T

Crowne Plaza London Kings Cross – Dinner for 2 in Belgo!

2 x ETC Venues Hampers – Filled with going to New York bits (make a Manhattan cocktail).

Farmers & Fletchers Hall – A bottle of champagne.

Ironmongers Hall – A 3 course lunch with drinks part of our Mondays Club Luncheon for 2 guests*.

Sadler’s Wells – 2 tickets for a performance at Sadler’s Wells along with a bottle of bubbly to enjoy pre show or during the interval.

St Paul’s Cathedral – Use of the Wren Suite in the Crypt of St Paul’s for a daytime event.

Thistle City Barbican – a 2 night weekend stay for 2 with Breakfast.

Trinity House – Light Upon the Waters book – The History of Trinity House.

Cuddly Toy, Signed football (printed signatures), Rockstar Autobiography, Dressing Gown, Dictionary, Calculator, Wobbly Man, Photo Frame, Frisbee, Bathmat, Tennis Racquet.

Once the teams had retired with their prizes to their hotels, they were taken by Corporate Black Cabs to the celebration venue of the event for a wonderful food and drinks reception with all the venue and supplier members overlooking spectacular views at The Aviary at the Royal London House Montcalm Hotel:
