Cavendish Venues takes part in London City Selection’s Big City Site Visit 2019!

London City Selection (LCS), the City of London’s venue consortium, had its annual corporate familiarization day on Tuesday 23rd July 2019: the Big City Site Visit, to showcase the diverse venues to event bookers and professionals.

The City tour organised by the London City Selection Chair Paul Martins at Cavendish Venues  invited corporate event bookers to visit 10 of the collection’s almost 30 venues in the same day, offering them the chance to sample the best in hospitality at some of the City’s modern, heritage and unique venues within the collection.

Museum of London Sales Account Manager Elizabeth Singleton and Event Sales Executive Mariam Khan from Cavendish Venues joined to guide guests around the venues with the assistance of the wonderfully well-informed Peter Twist as City Guide.

The first visit came with a warm welcome thanks to the lovely Zoe Turner at Trinity House where just outside, the group saw Hollywood actor Jason Statham filming.

Just a stone’s throw away, the next destination was America Square at Cavendish Venues where Mariam Khan kindly showed event bookers around. There they were especially intrigued by the historic Roman London Wall among the contemporary style of the suites.

Then, the group  was lead to Furniture Makers Hall with a cordial reception thanks to Teddie Oates:

From there they went to meet Claire Kirikal at the Honourable Artillery Company at The HAC with its beautiful greenery.

After a lunch break to recharge everyone batteries, the team were taken over to the Museum of London, walking through the new aerial pedways. City of London Guide Peter Twist spoke more about the idea behind the pedways and its surroundings.

Arriving at the Museum of London, Elizabeth Singleton started off by showing us a variation of spaces they have on offer. This included the reception area that is perfect for evening drinks with the daytime reception desk transforming into a modern bar.

Once they had seen the historic artifacts (some which can even be used as a dinner table decoration), they started to make our way to ETC. St Paul to hear more about their recently opened venue Etc. 133 Houndsditch. The group was greeted with some lovely ice cream and ice cold drinks by Natalee Moona & Weronika Ptas who then continued to tell them more about their new venue.

Just nearby, they then went to see Citadines Barbican, where Fiorella Ashman and her team took them around to see the different style bedrooms they have on offer some even came with their own doorbell!

Then a jump on the bus led them to see 58 VE where the group was greeted by Ella Priest and her colleague. They showed some edgy meeting spaces where even the glass doors at a click of a button would tint to ensure privacy.

Next stop of the tour was at Painters Hall where they were greeted by Teddie Oates & Rumbie Karumazondo, who took them back in time through the historical paintings and were stunned by the amazing chandeliers.

To conclude this informative and eventful day they ended up at Skinners Hall greeted by Eva Garrett where the Beadle Phillip Ludgrove RN took the group around and told us of the venue’s history. The tour ended on their Roof Terrace with drinks and a delicious BBQ perfect for some networking.
